TATTOO AFTERCARE.
Proper aftercare is essential for a clean heal and a vibrant tattoo. Please follow the instructions below.
1. ADHESIVE WRAP (FIRST 7 DAYS)
Your artist will provide an adhesive which will have your tattoo sealed for 7 days without having to wash or lubricate during that period.
The tattoo will look really muddy inside the wrap. If you like, you can swing by the following morning to replace it with a fresh one.
2. KEEP IT DRY
Avoid taking hot showers as it will weaken the adhesive and cause it to peel off.
If your seal happens to peel too close to the tattoo, please remove it.
If liquid leaks out of the adhesive, please remove it.
3. WASH & MOISTURIZE
After removing the wrap, gently clean with antibacterial soap. We recommend Dial Gold.
Pat dry with a clean towel.
Moisturize with a tattoo balm like Hustle Butter or a moisturizer like Lubriderm for the next several weeks until fully healed.
No Vaseline, no Aquaphor, no A&D.
Apply a very thin layer of balm. It should look shiny, not wet.
4. PROTECT YOUR TATTOO
Avoid direct sunlight for 6 weeks.
Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, lakes, and the ocean.
Your tattoo is an open wound. These places are full of bacteria and can cause infection.
5. REST & RECOVER
Your tattoo is essentially an injury.
Make sure to REST and take the following day off, especially after larger scale tattoos.
For leg tattoos, keep your leg elevated as much as possible.
6. NO WORKOUTS
Absolutely DO NOT work out for at least 1 week.
This is extremely important.
Sweat will increase the risk of infection and can cause your tattoo to become fuzzy, compromising the quality forever.
Please follow these instructions thoroughly to avoid a touch up session. Remember your tattoo is an investment—make sure to take care of it!
